¡Enhorabuena! to Rosemont’s Senior Spanish debating team! Lucy, Sarah Alex and Sofia won the first of their debates in the Association of Teachers of Spanish debating competition. The motion was ‘Esta casa cree que no debería haber institutos privados en Irlanda’-‘This house believes there should be no fee-paying secondary schools in Ireland’. Captained by Lucy, the girls successfully opposed the motion and we are very proud of them. Their next debate takes on place in Belvedere College on Monday 22nd October so watch this space!
Congratulations are also due to Rosemont’s 5th year students of Spanish who have been awarded the DELE Spanish Diploma. The Diplomas are internationally recognised Spanish-language qualifications and are awarded by the Cervantes Institute. The girls sat the exam in May at A2 and B1 level and we are very proud of their achievements.
