Transition Year

The Transition Year programme is an integral part of our secondary school.

We see this programme as an opportunity for our students to build on the academic achievements and the character development attained in Junior Cycle in order to prepare them for the Leaving Certificate and for their future role in society.

The Transition Year Programme benefits from continuous reviewing and updating.

Rosemont’s Coaching system continues in TY, supporting your daughter in maximising her potential through Rosemont’s Core Programme and Powerful Opportunities.

We encourage every girl to ‘personalise’ her TY, to jump in and start to discover new interests, skills, talents and passions!

It’s a fun-filled year – go for it!

Work Experience

Students will engage in a two week block of work experience during the year. The objective of this is to open up horizons for students in areas of career choice and equip them with information and experience to improve their eventual career choice.

Volunteering & community outreach opportunities:

In Rosemont we have a long history of all students participating in various aspects of social work in the local community. Students help in local community centres and with St Vincent de Paul and fundraise for the LauraLynn Children's Hospice Foundation, Spinal Injuries Ireland, Darkness into light and the Jack and Jill Children's Foundation.

TY's take responsibility for hosting local senior citizens in schools for one-on-one Tech help, Senior Citizens Christmas Lunch, BBQ/family fun day, Christmas Shoebox appeal, baking for Grandparent's Mass and coffee morning, Sports Day, Hospice Coffee Morning, & fundraising in conjunction with Kianda, our sister school in Nairobi, Kenya
